MiME-X

MiME-X

This project was about designing an electronic toy that would encourage social interactions and physical activities among children aged 8-13. The toy MiME-X consists of two parts: a headset and an armset. The headset uses the EEG technology to read the player's concentration level and converts the readings into "brain power." Players then use the armset to shoot their brain power at the opponents. This creates a Laser-Tag-like gameplay, making the players actively move around and engage with one another.

MiME-X was created in an interdisciplinary team that consisted of students in business and computer science from Brown University and students in industrial design from RISD. The project was mentored by Hasbro.
